  • Licensure: None.
  • Additional Requirements: Handle with Care, Service Excellence, CPR certs required; may work weekends/nights/overtime.

Position Summary

The Mental Health Technician - PRN functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescents through geriatrics. All MHT's work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient
  • Utilizesound judgment during assessment andobserveand documents any changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals
  • Communicate changes in patient's condition to the charge nurse

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year(s) of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure: None

Additional Requirements: Successful completion Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications must be obtained during new hire orientation. MHT's may be required to work weekends, overtime, nights, and have flexible hours.
