Friends Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Mental Health Technician to join our clinical team in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time evening shift (3-11pm) role supports patients across ages with medical and behavioral needs under the treatment team.

You will facilitate groups, assist with daily living activities, and help create engaging therapeutic programs. A Bachelor’s in human services or a high school diploma with two years of related experience qualifies you.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in human services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct care and management of patients across all ages with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team.
• Facilitate and conduct groups and ensure patients are engaged in active treatment.
• Assist with daily leisure activities and activities of daily living within patients' functional abilities.

Friends Hospital offers a continuum of care including level of care assessments; specially designed inpatient units for adolescents, adults, and older adults; and a private residential rehabilitation program. Mental Health Technicians (MHT) at Friends Hospital assist in direct care and management of patients across all age ranges with medical and behavioral issues as directed by treatment team. MHT's assist with unit programming by facilitating and conducting groups and ensuring patients are engaged in active treatment at all times. Assist with daily leisure activities, and all activities associated with daily living within the functional ability of patients and with consideration for the patients level of growth and development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in an area of human services, which includes, but may not be limited to the following:psychology, sociology, political science, counseling, criminal justice, pastoral counseling, elementary/special education, or family therapy.

OR

High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus 2 years of experience in human service field.
