Valle Vista Health System in Greenwood, IN is seeking Mental Health Technicians for a full-time role providing direct care to residents. You will ensure safety, support hygiene and self-help skills, and assist with recreational and therapeutic activities, reporting to the Unit Coordinator under the Chief Nursing Officer.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s in psychology preferred) and 6–12 months of behavioral health experience.

This full-time opportunity at Valle Vista offers 40 hours per week, full benefits, and a 7:00 am to 3:30 pm schedule providing care for our patients. There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested.

Position Summary

Mental Health Technicians provide direct care and supervision for residents, assure residents are kept safe, learn and practiceappropriate hygieneand self-help skills, and are aware of rules and expectations. Act as a role model for residents,demonstratingeffective problem solving and decision-making skills.Assistin providing recreational and therapeutic activities for the residents, transporting residents to and from medical appointments, and assuring scheduled programming is carried out. Perform duties as assignedin accordance withthe ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards. Mental Health Technicians report to the Unit Coordinator under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor's degree in psychologyor related field preferred.

Experience: Six months to one year of experience working with a behavioral health in-patient population preferred.

Additional Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Work Hours: Day shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, rotating weekends
