Job summary

College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support behavioral health patients under supervision of clinical nurses and program leadership. This role focuses on direct patient care, observation, and reporting patient status to the nursing team.

The position emphasizes maintaining patient safety, documenting observations, and assisting with therapeutic activities in alignment with treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a Health Care related field is required.
• One year of Behavioral Health experience preferred.
• BLS certification is required upon hire.
• Crisis Intervention Certifications – Levels 1, 2 and 3 within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Attend to patient personal needs (oral hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, transferring, etc.).
• Restore and promote patient health by completing the nursing process.
• Monitor and document patient information as part of the treatment plan.
• Escort and monitor patients during admissions, transfers and discharges; provide one-to-one support as ordered.
• Regularly observe and record patient behaviors, vital signs and weight.
• Coordinate and supervise therapeutic activities for patients per care plans.
