Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Mental Health Technician for the Day Shift at Springwood Behavioral Health Hospital in Bedford, TX. You will support the psychiatry team, assist with patient care, and help coordinate unit activities to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent (CNA preferred); BCLS and ACPI certifications are required. This full-time role runs 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, with opportunities for growth within Behavioral Health.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; CNA or 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
• Associate degree in healthcare-related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• BCLS and ACPI certifications required prior to independent patient care.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced Behavioral Health unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all patient care provided by the multidisciplinary team.
• Greets and orients patients; reviews safety procedures and unit rules with nurse coordination.
• Assist with discharge/transfer planning and gathering patient belongings.
• Maintain clean, stocked unit areas; follow hand hygiene and privacy policies.
• Demonstrate therapeutic communication and collaboration with health care team.
