Job summary

The Douglas County Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) in Omaha, NE, seeks an incumbent to perform basic nursing care under a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, providing patient comfort per established policies. Responsibilities include vital signs, therapeutic activity, admissions, and safety in a secure psychiatric facility.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR and CPI training within 6 months, and post-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR and CPI training within 6 months of hire.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical activities based on patient treatment plan.
• Obtain, document, and chart patients' vital signs and other data.
• Engage individuals in an empathetic/accepting manner to develop therapeutic relationships.
• Deescalate situations with patients and participate in therapeutic activities.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and routine personal care.
