Job summary

Douglas County Community Mental Health Center is seeking an incumbent to assist with basic nursing care under a Psychiatric Registered Nurse or designee. You will perform clinical tasks, document vital signs, and support therapeutic activities in a secure psychiatric environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR and CPI training within 6 months of hire, and successful completion of pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and CPI training within 6 months of hire.
• Pre-employment background check, conditional offer drug screen and physical assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical activities based on patient treatment plan.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, supervisors, county employees, and the public.
• Attend shift report meetings for continuity of care.
• Obtain, document, and chart patients’ vital signs and other data.
• Observe psychosocial interactions and report changes to supervisor.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and deescalate situations.
• Supervise patients’ personal care routines and monitor nutrition.
