Mental Health Technician - Children's Hospital FEATURED

Orefield, PA

Multiple options available, primarily evenings with weekends/OT as needed.

The Mental Health Technician is responsible for providing direct supervision and support to emotionally and behaviorally challenged children and adolescents in a compassionate and respectful manner. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, awareness of ongoing developments and concerns of all children in care, and the ability to differentiate between discipline and punishment. The technician should also recognize underlying needs beyond surface behaviors and build trusting, supportive relationships to facilitate individualized treatment and programming.

Qualifications (Education, Training, Experiences):

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in mental health or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with acutely emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • SCM certification and CPR/First Aid certifications required (training provided post-hire).
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Basic personal computer skills required.
