Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the MHS provides direct patient care and participates in creating a therapeutic milieu.

Responsibilities include:

1. Identifying and reporting house cleaning and equipment issues.
2. Participating in inventory management and ensuring a clean, safe environment.
3. Assisting patients with activities of daily living and meeting hygiene and nutritional needs.
4. Supporting patients during tests, exams, and procedures, and ensuring their safety during transfers and outings.
5. Maintaining professional growth through mandatory training, feedback, and competency development.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. No experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Experience: At least one year of clinical experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting; 1-2 years preferred. Prior direct patient care experience is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities: Effective communication, teamwork, and completion of Epic training within 30 days of hire with 80% passing score.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and reaching; occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and foot use.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs with assistance, carry 20-35 lbs, and perform other physical tasks as listed.
• Constant vision, hearing, talking, and feeling; near and far vision; ability to handle gross and fine manipulations.
