Job Summary:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) supports and collaborates with the Registered Nurse by providing direct care to psychiatric patients. Responsibilities include organizing group activities, assisting with activities of daily living, demonstrating a caring attitude, understanding psychotropic medications, fostering collegial relationships, responding to cultural diversity, performing crisis intervention, assisting with patient admission, and reporting changes in mental status to the primary nurse.

Required Experience:

• 2 years experience in an acute psychiatric care setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English clearly.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Current BLS required.
• EKG and Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• CPI or PMCS preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree or 60 credits towards a bachelor's in a related field preferred.

Shift and Salary:

Evening shift, 3 PM - 11 PM; Salary Range: $27.222/hr - $28.614/hr
