Job summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Monroe/West Monroe is seeking Full-Time/PRN Mental Health Techs to join our acute care team serving adolescents. You will obtain, record, and communicate clinical information, and provide direct supervision in a safe, structured environment.

You will work closely with nurses and clinicians, participate in groups and therapeutic activities, and help maintain professional boundaries while delivering compassionate care in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in psychiatric care or mental health settings.
• Ability to maintain safety and boundaries.
• Experience with adolescents preferred.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to adolescent patients.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
• Monitor patient behavior and communicate observations to nursing and clinical staff.
• Establish appropriate, professional relationships with patients.
• Assist with daily activities, groups, recreation, and therapeutic programming.
• Help redirect inappropriate or unsafe behaviors using approved techniques.
• Participate in crisis prevention and de-escalation interventions as trained.
• Complete required documentation and safety checks.
• Assist nursing staff with patient needs within the scope of the MHT role.
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.

Freedom Behavioral Monroe/West Monroe facility is an 82-bed acute care hospital dedicated to providing specialized mental and behavioral health services for the geriatric population. The hospital delivers a comprehensive range of care, including both inpatient and outpatient treatment options, designed to support the unique needs of older adults.

As a valued member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients. In this position you would obtain, record, and communicate important clinical information, and provide clinical services within a multidisciplinary team environment. Our MHTs play an incredibly important role. You are often one of the staff members spending the most time with our patients—and your ability to listen, encourage, redirect, observe, and maintain a safe environment can make a meaningful difference.
