Job summary

Centurion Health in Maryland is seeking a Full-time Mental Health Technician to join the team at MarylandCorrectional Training Center in Hagerstown. The role focuses on basic behavioral health monitoring within a correctional setting, and on running recreational groups to support patient recovery and well-being.

The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team, participate in treatment planning meetings, and help set patient goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or counseling is required.
• Previous MHT or CNA experience is required.
• Valid state driver's license is required.
• CPR & BLS certifications are required.
• Must pass background check and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic behavioral/mental health monitoring for patients in a correctional setting.
• Create and lead recreational groups addressing symptoms and promoting recovery.
• Provide structured cognitive and social stimulation to support well-being.
• Assess recreational and adaptive living needs and participate in treatment team meetings to set plans and goals.

Centurion is proud to be the provider ofcomprehensive services to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. We are currently seeking aFull-time Mental Health Technicianto join our team at MarylandCorrectional Training Centerlocated in Hagerstown, Maryland.

TheMental Health Technicianworks alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide basic behavioral/mental health monitoring to patients in a correctional setting. Additional duties include creating and providing recreational groups designed to address symptoms, providing structured cognitive and social stimulation to promote individual recovery and well-being. This person assesses recreational and adaptive living needs and participates in treatment team meetings to set patient plans and goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or counseling required.
• Previous experience as a MHT or CNA required.
• One (1) year of experience working with the autistic population preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary.
• Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.
