Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our Indiana unit. You will provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling for youths based on unit needs.

Reporting to the Direct Care Supervisor, this non-exempt role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and flexibility to work overtime as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic field preferred.
• Two years of related psychiatric patient care experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required; successful completion of HWC within 90 days of employment.
• May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients on unit.
• Work under the direction of the Direct Care Supervisor.
• Support treatment team across age range depending on unit.
• Non-exempt position.

Responsibilities

The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from late childhood through late adolescence depending on which unit worked. Mental Health Technicians work under the direction of the Direct Care Supervisor. Non-exempt position.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic field is preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Additional Requirements: CPR and First Aid certification and successful completion of HWC within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in a seclusion/restraint intervention. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
