Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral Health in Forrest City, AR is seeking a Mental Health Technician/Youth Care Worker to support patients in a fast-paced behavioral health setting. This is an entry-level opportunity to learn and grow in psychology and patient care.

Responsibilities include observing behavior, assisting with daily living skills, maintaining a safe environment, and providing material restraints if needed (training provided).

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent is required; preferred experience in psychology, human services, nursing, or social work environments.
• At least one year of related experience in an assisted living, residential, or hospital setting; psychiatric experience preferred or one year as a Corpsman in the Military.
• Schedule: full-time requires a four days on / two days off rotation; shifts include Days 7:00 am–3:00 pm, Evening 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, Overnight 11:00 pm–7:00 am.
• Physical: must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push and pull to perform restraints.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
• Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
• Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with daily living skills.
• Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment.
• Provide physical restraint or intervention if appropriate. Training will be provided.
