Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral Healthcare of Forrest City is seeking a full-time Lead Mental Health Technician to join our patient-centered team.

You will supervise daily care, coordinate training, precept new MHTs, observe patient behavior, and help create a safe, therapeutic environment. A high school degree, 3 years of hospital psychiatric experience, and completion of BLS and Handle with Care within 30 days are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent.
• Experience: At least three (3) years in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience.
• BLS and Handle with Care training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting throughout the shift.
• Conduct Handle with Care, BLS and MHT Academy trainings.
• Precept/train new and existing MHTs.
• Perform direct observation rounds and document patient behavior.
• Model and teach life skills to patients.
• Orient patients to the unit and assist with daily living skills.
• Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
• Provide physical restraint or intervention if needed (training provided).
