Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City, Arkansas is seeking an entry-level Mental Health Technician/Youth Care Worker to support behavioral health patients. The role involves daily patient care, behavior assessment, and continuous interaction throughout shifts.

Qualifications include a High School Degree or equivalent and at least 1 year of related experience in care settings. Schedules include 4 days on/2 days off with day/evening/overnight shifts. Training for restraints will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent required; related psychology/healthcare experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of related experience in assisted living, residential, or hospital setting; psychiatric experience preferred or Corpsman in the Military.
• Schedule includes 4 days on/2 days off; shifts 7:00 am–3:00 pm, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, 11:00 pm–7:00 am.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push and pull for restraints (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Care for patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them throughout the shift.

• Orient the patients to the unit and assist with daily living skills.
• Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment.

Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City, Arkansas has an immediate opening for a Mental Health Technician/Youth Care Worker!

This is a great entry-level position in psychology/behavioral health!

Our Mental Health Technician responsibilities include some of the following:

Care for our patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.

Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.

• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients
• Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with daily living skills
• Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment
• - Provide physical restraint or intervention if appropriate. Training will be provided

Qualifications for the Mental Health Technician should include the following:

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent is required. It is preferred to have educational or work experience in psychology, human service, nursing, or social work environments
• Experience: At least one (1) year of related experience in a assisted living, residential, or hospital setting. Psychiatric experience preferred or (1) year experience as a Corpsman in the Military
• Schedule: If working full time, must be able to work a rotation of 4 days on/2 days off. Hours will be Days: 7:00 am-3:00pm, Evening: 3:00pm-11:00pm, Overnight: 11:00 pm-7:00 am.
• Physical:Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push and pull to perform restraints

Minimum Age- Must be at least 21 years of age.
