Austin Oaks Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support weekends with direct patient care under the charge nurse. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu, assist with activities of daily living, and support care across adult and adolescent units where needed.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and CPR certification; psychiatric experience is preferred.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year psychiatric experience preferred.
• CPR Certification required.

POSITION SUMMARY

Mental Health Technicians Weekends: Saturday and Sunday 7a-11p, to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse. Responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and assistance with activities of daily living. The Mental Health Technician must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including adults as well as adolescents.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience: One year prior psychiatric experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: CPR Certification. Human behavior preferred including therapeutic relationships & processes, age specific growth & development, limit setting, crisis & behavior management.
