Job summary

Austin Oaks Hospital in South Austin, Texas, seeks a Mental Health Technician for days 7a-3pm to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu, assist with activities of daily living, and support crisis intervention as needed.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent; CPR certification; and at least one year of psychiatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
One year psychiatric experience preferred.
CPR certification; human behavior and crisis management background preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse.

POSITION SUMMARY

Mental Health Technicians Days 7a-3pm, to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse. Responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and assistance with activities of daily living. The Mental Health Technician must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male adults as well as dually diagnosed adults.

Qualifications

Experience: One year prior psychiatric experience preferred.
