Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Austin Oaks Hospital in Austin, TX, seeks a Mental Health Technician for day shifts (7a–3p). You will provide direct patient care and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for adolescents and adults with behavioral health needs.

The role requires CPR certification with 1 year of psychiatric experience preferred; responsibilities include crisis intervention and aiding with daily living activities.

Qualifications

Position Summary

Mental Health Technicians Days 7a-3pm, to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse. Responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and assistance with activities of daily living. The Mental Health Technician must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male adults as well as dually diagnosed adults.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience: One year prior psychiatric experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: CPR Certification. Human behavior preferred including therapeutic relationships & processes, age specific growth & development, limit setting, crisis & behavior management.
