• Learn techniques of observing residents and reporting behavior in a positive manner.
• Maintain a safe, clean unit and perform housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and travel as required for job duties.

Responsibilities

• Receive six to twelve months of training in caring for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
• Observe technical staff performing duties related to residents' care and rehabitation plan.
• Provide supportive interaction with residents and report behavior changes.
• Keep unit safe, clean, and orderly including bed making and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Perform other duties within the scope of listed responsibilities.
