Texas NeuroRehab Center is seeking a Mental Health Tech for 3p-11p shifts, Monday through Friday, to assist in direct patient care and support therapy, ADLs, and recreational activities. The role involves documenting daily patient progress and collaborating with the treatment team to implement safety and therapeutic plans.

Qualifications

• Education and Training: High School diploma or equivalent, Prefer bachelor's degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development.
• Licensure and/or Certification: Current CPR certification
• Experience: No minimum required, Prefer one year's experience as a nurse's aide, mental health aide, psych aide, or the equivalent in a rehabilitation, psychiatric, or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a role model for patients, visitors, & staff. Works as a team member to promote a positive work environment.
• Documents patient behaviors, condition, & progress on a daily basis by recording data in the prescribed format. Progress notes in the medical record accurately reflect behavioral data as well as activities. Charting is thorough & descriptive.
• Provides hands‑on physical care, supervision, crisis intervention, behavior management, & behavior modification as directed by the individual treatment plan & unit program guidelines.
• Recognizes & reports pain & safety issues. Takes measures to provide relief / safety.
• Takes and documents vital signs, weights, and heights.
