Beacon Health System is seeking a Mental Health Tech to support the behavioral health team under RN supervision. The role facilitates a therapeutic environment and assists patients with daily living activities, group participation, and communication with families and physicians.

Responsibilities include observing patient behavior, documenting rounds, greeting visitors, and helping with admissions, belongings, and discharge paperwork. Must adapt in crisis situations and maintain patient dignity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Nurse Assistant certification preferred.
• Previous clerical or patient care experience desired.
• Experience as psychiatric technician or completion of psychology/counseling courses preferred.
• Ability to work in crisis situations and with diverse patients.

Responsabilités

• Facilitates maintenance of a therapeutic environment and assists with daily living activities.
• Observes, reports patient behavior and intervenes as required.
• Greet visitors and facilitate communications with patients, families, physicians and team members.
• Assists with admission and discharge paperwork; maintains patient belongings.
• Participates in daily MHT groups; documents attendance and group completion.
• Assists with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
• May participate in care during special procedures and crisis interventions.
• Maintains unit schedule and communicates changes to staff.
