Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, TX is seeking a Mental Health Technician to provide direct support to patients in psychiatric or behavioral health care, under supervision of nursing and clinical staff.

You will collaborate with nurses and therapists, monitor patient conditions, assist with safety protocols, and document observations. Requires 2 years of MH direct care, high school diploma, BLS and SAMA certifications within first week; shift is 12X3 Day with 36 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in mental health with direct patient care responsibilities.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; BLS and SAMA certifications preferred/required within first week of hire.
• Experience collaborating with nursing and clinical staff in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to patients in psychiatric/behavioral health care under supervision.

Job Purpose

• The Mental Health Technician provides direct support to patients receiving psychiatric or behavioral health care, working under the supervision of nursing and clinical staff.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Licenses and/or Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, American Heart Association
• Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification within first week of hire

Work Experience:

• 2 years’ experience in mental health related field with direct patient care responsibilities
