Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Mental Health Technician to provide direct patient care in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting. You will work under nursing and clinical staff, monitoring safety and behavior while assisting with activities of daily living and implementing individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of mental health experience, and required BLS (or AHA) certification; SAMA certification must be obtained

Job Purpose

• Monitors patient safety and behavior, assists with activities of daily living and helps implement individualized treatment plans.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

Licenses and/or Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or American Heart Association (required)
• Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification within first week of hire

Work Experience:

• 2 years minimum experience in mental health related field with direct patient care responsibilities
