Responsibilities

Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) – Night Shift

This full‑time opportunity offers 36 hours per week with full benefits, overtime, and various shift coverage options.

Full–time night shift positions are eligible for a $5,000 sign‑on bonus.

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126‑bed inpatient psychiatric hospital and a joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. The facility offers services on a general adult unit, dedicated adolescent unit, psychiatric‑medical unit for co‑occurring disorders, an intensive adult unit for severe conditions, and a women’s trauma unit.

Behavioral Health Associates (BHAs) deliver quality care to patients with varying psychiatric, behavioral, and mental health diagnoses, ensuring safety and continued care.

• Assists the Registered Nurse with admissions by obtaining vital signs, securing belongings, screening visitors and incoming calls.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with discharge, returning belongings, and escorting individuals out of the hospital.
• Facilitates activity, education, and leisure groups and documents purpose and outcome.
• Provides escorts for patients to the cafeteria, outside courtyards, or other hospital areas.
• Maintains observation check sheets for all patients on assigned unit, conducts safety rounds on each shift, and documents safety rounds.
• Demonstrates compassion and respect when interacting with patients and families/care partners.
• Mentors and coaches patients on early warning signs and triggers.

Qualifications
