Copper Hills Youth Center in West Jordan, UT seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to serve as a positive role model for youth aged 12–17. You will supervise activities, document behaviors, and help students meet daily goals including hygiene, education, and therapy meetings.
The role requires teamwork and calm crisis intervention using verbal de-escalation, with a new hire sign-on bonus of $1,500 and a pay range up to $23.00 per hour (with shift differentials).
Copper Hills Youth Center is a 24/7 secure residential treatment center (behavioral health) for male and female adolescents aged 12 through 17. We counsel, teach and mentor students who have psychiatric disorders. Our goal is to provide treatment that results in positive changes, allowing these youth to return to their families and communities.
Behavioral Health Technicians serve as a positive role model for youth while providing close supervision and documenting behaviors. Must be a team player and recognize the importance of this position to positive student outcomes. Will ensure that students are meeting defined daily goals, including hygiene, unit activities, education &therapy meetings, etc. Will intervene during student crisis as necessary by using verbalde-escalation skills and other personal safety techniques. Facilitation of group interactions and ensuring students are behaving according tostandards.By using positiveverbal skills,educate studentson appropriate behavior and possible consequences, and enact consequences if needed.
