Job summary

UF Health in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Mental Health Tech to support patients on the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. This role involves direct patient care, safety supervision and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team under RN supervision.

The position is 0.90 FTE with night shifts (3-12s) and variable days, located in St. Augustine, Florida. Prior mental health experience and flexibility to work nights are desirable for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0–1 year direct patient care in a mental health setting preferred.
• Ability to work on an inpatient behavioral health unit with an interdisciplinary team.
• BLS certification within 30 days and WELLE training within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Required: High School Diploma/Equivalent

Experience

Required: 0 - 1 year Mental Health Unit/Direct Patient Care

Preferred: Experience working with patients in a mental health care setting.

Certificates/Licenses/Registration

Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) provided by American Heart Association (AHA), required within 30 days of employment.
• WELLE Certification. WELLE training (Non-Abusive Psychological & Physical Intervention) within 90-days of employment; annual re-certification will be required thereafter.
