Job summary

Trinity Health Hospital in Minot, ND is seeking an RN, Mental Health to provide therapeutic, recovery‑oriented nursing care in a secure behavioral health unit during evenings and nights.

You will conduct mental health and physical assessments, administer medications, participate in crisis intervention and safety planning, document in the electronic health record, and collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and staff to support stabilization and patient recovery.

Qualifications

• Current or temporary RN license in North Dakota or compact licensure.
• BLS certification required within orientation period.
• Hospital experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health and physical assessments, observing changes in behavior, mood, risk, or treatment response.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
• Participate in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning.
• Document assessments and interventions in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to update care plans and support recovery.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, coping strategies, and resources.
