Job summary

Devereux in Homestead, PA is seeking a Mental Health Residential Advisor, DAS to join a 24-hour team delivering support to adults with serious mental illness. The role focuses on community integration, quality care, and Recovery‑Model based activities, with training provided by TCV.

The position is full-time, 8am-4pm with rotating weekends. Benefits include health and vision insurance, a 403(b) plan, tuition and student loan assistance, and paid training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience working in social services with adults who have drug and alcohol, forensic, and/or mental health issues preferred.
• Act 33/34, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances required.
• New hire and 24 hours of annual training required.

Responsibilities

• Teach activities of daily living to consumers, including shopping, cooking, maintenance of living quarters, hygiene, appropriate dress, and daily coping skills.
• Provide crisis prevention and intervention.
• Facilitate planning of social and recreational activities and consumer groups inside the program or in the community (e.g., AA/NA meetings).
• Provide transportation or accompany individuals to recreation, shopping, and community awareness activities.
• Provide accurate medication monitoring, including counting medications and observing prescribed medication intake.
