Job summary

Mount Rogers is seeking a Direct Care Service Provider to support individuals with serious emotional disturbance in a mental health group home. The role involves following individualized recovery plans, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with daily activities and documentation.

The position requires a High School Diploma and a Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record. The job includes interaction with a treatment team and opportunities to contribute to client

Qualifications

• Ability to interact with people in a supportive and therapeutic manner.
• Knowledge of the nature of mental health and related disorders.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to work independently and with supervision available at broadly spaced intervals.

Responsibilities

• To ensure a clean and safe environment by performing tasks such as house cleaning, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, as well as fire drills and fire extinguisher checks.
• To participate in the activities of a self-directed team, attend meetings and trainings events as needed.
• Assist with teaching independent living skills based on the individualized service plan goals.
• To maintain, administer and document medications in accordance with physician’s orders and regulatory standards, and to observe for side effects.
• Administer basic first aid and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications as required.
• Assist with answering phone calls, taking referrals, and entering data into Credible; assist with administrative intake paperwork.
• Appropriate intervention in crisis situations and emergencies, making referrals and seeking consultation as needed.
