Job summary

Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit is seeking a Supervisor of Mental Health Programming to oversee mental health programming coordination across the Metro Detroit community, focusing on youth and Jewish communal partners.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, leading crisis response efforts, and building partnerships within the community. Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in human services.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in human services, with prior supervisory, team leadership, or program coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support program coordinators in the effective delivery of mental health programs.
  • Maintain high‑quality staff performance by coaching and evaluating assigned staff.
  • Provide clinical consultation and guidance to program staff.
  • Co‑chair training and outreach efforts addressing domestic abuse.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for crisis response.
  • Lead planning and readiness for Mass Casualty Incident-level responses.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for service delivery and outcome tracking.
  • Build and maintain external partnerships for mental-health programming delivery.
  • Ensure timely completion of documentation and reporting requirements.

Skills

Ability to supervise, coach, and support staff performance.
Strong communication skills
Competence in Microsoft Office and electronic health record/reporting systems
Ability to collect, interpret, and present program data
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and agencies

Education

Master’s degree in Social Work or a related human service field
