We are hiring for:

Mental Health Professional (Non Licensed Mental Health Therapist)

The Mental Health Professional (family based) is the lead member of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for treatment plan development. The Mental Health Professional serves as team leader providing team and individually delivered therapy and case management to children and their families in the home and/or community. Therapists work with the child and family to improve overall family attachments and cohesion, self-regulation, and anchor a support system. This position is required to work hours that coincide with client schedules, including day, evening, and/or weekend hours.

We are hiring A Mental Health Professional- who works as one half of a team which provides treatment services to families, including therapy and counseling to a child and family. The Family Based Team (a masters level and bachelors level therapist) helps with skills training and education designed to enable families to care for their children with mental health needs at home. The FBT works flexible hours, including evenings and possibly weekends, to meet the needs of the children and families on their assigned caseload. The FBT travels to client homes, other agencies, and community locations for the purpose of arranging and providing community and home-based services for children, adolescents, and families.


3 years paid training in Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy Model through the Philadelphia Child and Guidance Center (eligibility for state certification upon successful completion of training)

**Bonus Employee sign on- $1000.00 to be paid in 3 increments
$250.00- After orientation which includes shadowing
$250.00- After competing 90-day probation
$500.00- After 6 months of employment

Required Education/Experience

Education-.

  • Graduate Degree in psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, education, rehabilitation, or any graduate degree in the field of human services; OR (ACT/FB)
  • Registered Nurse with five years’ experience in the mental health field, plus have certification by the Department of Public Welfare, Office of Mental Health (OMH), as a mental health family-based worker; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, rehabilitation, education, pre-med, theology, anthropology, or any degree in the field of human services, plus certification by the Pennsylvania Certification Board as a mental health family-based worker(Family Based only)

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a CASSP System Program
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical or rehabilitation experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, internship and/or practicum experience are considered experience if conducted in a clinical inpatient or outpatient setting (ACT only)

Rate of Pay $25.00 hourly

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with client, child, parent/guardian, treatment team members, and other personnel involved in treatment.
  • Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with children, families, and staff from a variety of cultures and social backgrounds.
  • Must have knowledge of various therapy techniques and counseling strategies applicable to serving complex family systems.
  • Must have knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children/adolescents and adults with persistent mental health challenges.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must display professional attitude.
  • Must display empathy, active listening skills, critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Provide team (60%) and individually (40%) delivered therapy to children and their families in the home and/or the community. (family based only)
  • Provide individual/group therapy treatment in office and in the community, setting using a stage-based model (ACT only)
  • Serve as lead clinician and provide clinical guidance to Mental Health Worker. (family based only)
  • Utilize safe crisis prevention techniques as deemed appropriate.
  • Document treatment data/results that are clinically relevant on progress notes and submit in a timely manner (within 24 hours of each encounter).
  • Complete client intake paperwork/assessments per company/program guidelines
  • Complete recurrent assessments within the regulated timeframes
  • Assist/participate in client psychiatric evaluations and medication checks, understanding symptomology and managing symptoms.
  • training new staff and acting as a lead therapist. Uses personal influence to encourage and support mental health workers on their caseloads.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and other miscellaneous meetings, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other providers to secure appropriate aftercare/discharge services and community linkages supports during the course of treatment (county, housing, MH/MR, and all other providers involved)
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise treatment goals and plans in collaboration with client and team members in accordance with regulated timeframes.
  • Assist clients in finding safe and affordable housing (ACT only)
  • Coordinate detoxification services with external inpatient service providers and establish linkage to self-help programs as needed.
  • Assist clients in budgeting and daily living skills to maintain stability in home and community settings.
  • Transport clients when necessary
