Job summary

Wellpath in Louisiana is seeking a Mental Health Professional to provide clinical services to youth involved in the criminal justice system under supervision of MH Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor, or MH Director.

The role requires LMSW/LCSW or PLPC with LPC within 6 months, CPR certification, and delivering individual, group, and crisis interventions while maintaining compliant documentation. This is a mission-driven, growth-focused position in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field.
  • Licensed LMSW/LCSW or PLPC aiming for LPC within 6 months or LPC.
  • Experience in mental health counseling, group/individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
  • Experience with youth preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical services, including individual, group, and family therapy, aimed at reducing maladaptive behavior and promoting healthy psychological functioning.
  • Deliver crisis intervention services to youth, consulting with facility staff on treatment concerns and coordinating mental health follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with patients and staff to establish, review, and update treatment goals, while monitoring and documenting progress and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and reports, ensuring adherence to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Work with psychiatry staff on mental health monitoring, participate in staff meetings and training, and contribute to specialized clinical services or program development as needed.

How you make a difference

Additional Details

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field from an accredited college or university.

Experience

  • Coursework and professional experience that indicate knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
  • Experience working with youth preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • LMSW, LPC, or similar licensure in the state from the appropriate state licensing board.
  • Must maintain CPR certification and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required.
