Job summary

The State of South Carolina's Office of Mental Health seeks a Mental Health Professional I to join the Waccamaw Center for Mental Health in Conway. You will deliver screening, crisis intervention, and therapy to individuals, families, and groups, under direct supervision, to support long-term wellness and community resilience.

This role involves completing emergency and judicial paperwork for probate court, coordinating with other professionals, and maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or related field.
• Experience working with adults and children in a community mental health setting.
• Ability to serve as team member in Access/Crisis Team and back up mobile crisis.
• Valid license to operate a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy, emergency services and case management services to persons experiencing emotional disturbances, including assessments, crisis intervention, individual, group and family therapy.
• Complete and submit clinician service notes within 24 hours.
• Demonstrate and maintain effective working relationships with families and professionals.
• Communicate effectively.
• Maintain documentation of charts and records.
• Participate in providing information about services and admission criteria.
