Job summary

The Office of Mental Health, part of the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, seeks a Mental Health Professional I / Intake to provide clinical services to adults and families in Lancaster, SC. Responsibilities include assessment, therapy, crisis intervention and care coordination in a community setting.

Under supervision, the role emphasizes recovery-based planning, documentation, and collaboration with MDs and community agencies while supporting stigma reduction

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences with clinical counseling experience.
• Experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting or practicum/internship.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinically indicated services: assessment, individual, family and group therapy, and crisis intervention.
• Manage a caseload with referrals, advocacy and coordinating care across agencies.
• Develop recovery-based plans with person-centered goals and maintain clinical documentation.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and pursue continuing education; build community partnerships.
