Job summary

The NP collaborates with a multidisciplinary medical team, documents in the EMR, and follows clinic policies for prescribing and care planning.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain graduate professional nurse and nurse practitioner registration in Massachusetts, unrestricted and active.
• Obtain certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
• Be compassionate with strong reasoning and thinking skills.
• Strong computer skills, including use of the electronic health record.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient care to patients with mental status changes or medical conditions.
• Work independently with the medical team and with the Chief of Medical Services.
• Participate in an interdisciplinary team to provide patient care.
• Perform medical evaluations, risk assessments, and order tests as needed.
• Prescribe medications per clinic policy and regulations.
• Consult with physicians on complex cases and document in EMR.
• Ensure effective communication with health professionals and program staff.
