Job summary

WellPower in Denver is seeking a Medical Assistant to support psychiatric care under a psychiatrist, conducting intake interviews, taking vital signs, and assisting with injections and blood draws. You will document medical histories and ensure continuity of care within the clinical team, contributing to integrated behavioral health services.

This role requires completing an accredited Medical Assistant program, with certification preferred, and at least one year in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience in a clinical or medical office setting required. Experience working in a community mental health center or behavioral health environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and prepare them for laboratory testing.
• Conduct intake interviews to gather consumer medical histories.
• Measure and record vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Document medical history, test results, and vital statistics in consumer medical records.
• Share relevant medical information with the treatment team to support integrated care.
• Coordinate medical care with clinical staff and psychiatrists.
• Foster a trauma-informed environment that promotes wellness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
