Job summary

Northwestern Counseling & Support Services in Saint Albans, VT is seeking a Mental Health Crisis Specialist to co-respond with the St. Albans Police Department and support individuals in crisis by connecting them with the right resources and services.

This is a 20-hour-per-week, part-time role requiring a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and relevant clinical or behavioral health experience. You will work with people from diverse backgrounds and may include evenings and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
• Related training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Co-respond with law enforcement to individuals experiencing mental health or other behavioral health crises.
• Build connections quickly with individuals who may be experiencing significant challenges.
• Provide supportive counseling and crisis intervention.
• Help individuals navigate mental health, healthcare, and other community systems.
• Coordinate care with community providers and other support services.
• Track and document data related to co-responses.
• Collaborate closely with the NCSS Emergency Services Team and teams throughout the agency.
• Work some non-traditional hours, primarily evenings and occasional weekends.
