Job description

Position Description

Reporting to the Associate Dean Student Services, the Mental Health Counselor is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating the mental health needs of The Valley COM students. The duties include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individual treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, and managing referrals for psychiatric care and medication management. The counselor will also be expected to provide crisis intervention as needed. This individual will serve as a member of the “COMPass Team” and will participate in the development and delivery of general wellness activities.

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctoral Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
• Licensed in Arizona as a Mental Health Counselor, Professional Counselor or equivalent
• Hold a license free from disciplinary action
