LMR Technical Group is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to provide direct, evidence-based counseling to New Hampshire National Guard Service Members and their families in Concord, NH. This role emphasizes delivering timely, in-house behavioral health support within a multidisciplinary readiness program.

You will counsel adults, couples, and families, address deployment-related stress, and maintain documentation while complying with HIPAA and DoD policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, active license to independently practice in NH in one of the listed disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual mental health counseling and psychotherapy to Service Members and eligible family members.
• Assess and treat stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other behavioral health concerns within clinical scope.
• Provide couples/marriage counseling addressing deployment, separation, and reintegration.
• Counsel children and adolescents facing deployment-related stress and family transitions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and maintain progress notes.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and DoD/NHNG privacy policies.
• Coordinate with leadership when additional services are needed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary coordination with readiness professionals.

Deployments, reintegration, operational stress, family separation, career transitions, and the demands of balancing civilian and military life can place significant strain on individuals and households.

LMR Technical Group is hiring a Mental Health Counselor to provide direct, evidence-based counseling to New Hampshire National Guard Service Members and their families.

This is not simply a referral or resource-coordination position. You will provide direct counseling and therapeutic support to the military community, with particular emphasis on helping individuals and families who may otherwise have difficulty obtaining timely care.

Job Description

Provide direct, evidence-based mental health counseling and therapy to New Hampshire National Guard Service Members, adult family members, children, and adolescents. Services may include individual therapy, family and relationship counseling, deployment and reintegration support, and treatment addressing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other behavioural health concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide individual mental health counseling and psychotherapy to Service Members and eligible family members.
• Assess and treat concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment difficulties, and other behavioural health challenges within the counselor's professional scope.
• Provide couples and marriage counseling, including support addressing deployment, separation, communication, and reintegration.
• Provide counseling to children and adolescents addressing deployment-related stress, military-family transitions, and other challenges associated with military life.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs and evidence-based practice.
• Maintain appropriate clinical documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Utilize applicable Government medical and readiness information systems as required to document care and coordinate services.
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, privacy requirements, professional standards, and applicable DoD and NHNG policies.
• Manage an active clinical caseload while prioritizing direct, in-house counseling services.
• Coordinate with program leadership when client needs exceed available internal capacity or require services outside the counselor's scope.
• Participate in interdisciplinary coordination with other readiness professionals when appropriate and consistent with privacy and clinical requirements.
• Support program outreach designed to reduce barriers to seeking behavioural healthcare.
• Participate in unit events, meetings, drill weekends, and other NHNG activities as required.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must possess a current, active, and unrestricted license to independently practice in the State of New Hampshire in one of the following disciplines:

• Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
• Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
• Licensed Psychologist

Additional requirements:

• Experience providing direct clinical counseling or psychotherapy.
• Demonstrated ability to assess clients, develop treatment plans, maintain clinical documentation, and deliver evidence-based behavioral healthcare.
• Ability to work effectively with adults, couples, families, and military populations.
• Knowledge of professional confidentiality requirements, HIPAA, and appropriate handling of protected health information.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening and meet DoD installation and information-system access requirements.
• Ability to travel to New Hampshire National Guard locations and support scheduled drill weekends or organizational events as required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with military members, veterans, first responders, or military families.
• Experience with deployment, reintegration, trauma, family systems, or occupational stress.
• Experience counseling children and adolescents.
