Job summary

United Health Services in New York's Southern Tier seeks a licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, and discharge planning.

You will collaborate in case management and clinical team reviews to improve long-term social, vocational, and personal functioning in line with each patient's recovery plan. This is a full-time day shift role with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in mental health counseling is required.
• NYS licensure as a mental health counselor (or Limited Permit with timeline).
• Understanding of addiction is preferred.

• Deliver group and individual therapy and participate in discharge planning.

Position Overview

To provide the highest quality clinical care in the service areas of assessment, diagnosis, treatment plans, group therapy, individual therapy, discharge and aftercare planning. Mental Health Counselors also participate in case management and clinical team case review process to ensure improved and long term plans for enhanced functioning socially, vocationally and personally in keeping with patient treatment recovery plan. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: UHS Outpatient Mental Health Clinic Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $30.58 - $45.86 per hour, depending on experience.

Education/Experience Minimum Required

Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Preferred: Understanding of the disease of addiction.

License/Certification Minimum Required

NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Will accept a Limited Permit with requirements to earn Mental Health Counselor licensure within 1 year of hire. Preferred: Not Applicable.
