Job summary

Lutheran Community Services NW seeks a WISe Mental Health Clinician to deliver evidence-based mental health services to children, youth and families in homes, schools, community, and office settings. The role requires flexible hours and on-call rotation to meet client needs.

The position emphasizes culturally mindful practice, collaboration with families and partner agencies, and adherence to documentation standards. WA State licensure pathways are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree is required and programs include Social Work, Counseling, MFT or Psychology.
• LICSW/LMFT/LPC or MHP preferred; licensure or licensure eligibility expected.
• Successful background check through Washington State Patrol.
• Submit Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration within 30 days.
• CPR/First Aid certification to be completed within 90 days.
• CANS certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of 15 to 25 families.
• Provide culturally mindful mental health treatment to children, youth and families.
• Conduct mental health screenings and DSM-aligned assessments.
• Maintain timely case notes per agency documentation standards.
• Collaborate with families and partner agencies on treatment plans.
• Travel countywide with mileage reimbursement.

All LCSNW team members will contribute to our mission of partnering with individuals, families and communities for health,justiceand hope. The WISe Mental Health Clinician provides mental health services, incorporating evidence-based practices that focus on the strengths of children and families served, maintains required records, and works effectively with community and agency staff. This position requires availability to work in homes, schools, community, and office setting depending on needs of individuals families on caseload. Communication, confidentiality and professionalism are essential parts of this position, particularly due to WISe being a team-based approach.The ability to work flexible hours including evenings and participating in an on-call rotation is expected.

• Maintain a caseload of 15 to 25 families.
• Provide culturally mindful mental health treatment services to children, youth, and families experiencing mental health conditions.
• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments to determine treatment needs aligned with current DSM diagnoses.
• Maintain timely case notes and records in alignment with the agency’s documentation standards.
• Collaborate with client support, including family members, partner agencies, and others as indicated with regards to client treatment plan.
• Approach responsibilities with a high degree of flexibility, including the ability to shift quickly from various tasks based on the needs ofthe individual.
• Participate in required supervision, staff, IEP, 504, and problem-solving team meetings, as well as professional developmentopportunities that may be located throughout the county.
• Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members.
• Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics ofthe populations served.
• Stay up to date in knowledge and skills in the field.
• Required to travel throughout countywide service area with mileage reimbursement allocated monthly

HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT:

• Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English are required; preference for candidates who can communicate in an additional language: Somali, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Arabic, or Spanish. Candidates with demonstrated language competency are eligible for language-based pay increase.
• Successful completion of a background check through Washington State Patrol.
• Can not be excluded from participation in any federal healthcare programs (Medicaid, Medicare, and other federally funded programs that provide health benefits).
• Must not be prohibited from entering school grounds or classrooms for any reason.
• Master’s degree granted by an accredited institution in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
• Previous experience conducting assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning acquired through internship or employment is preferred.
• LICSW, LMFT, LPC, or MHP preferred; eligibility for licensure, or working toward licensure
• Submit Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration Application (Within 30 days)
• CPR/First Aid (Within 90 Days)
• Washington State CANS certification.(Within 90 Days)
