Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Belton, TX is seeking a licensed clinical psychologist to provide mental health testing, evaluation, and diagnostic services at the Bell County Jail. Position Description

This is a responsible professional position at the Bell County Jail in Belton, TX. Specific duties include testing, psychological evaluation, and diagnostic services, as well as counseling an assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher-level licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice.

Major/Essential Functions

• Mental health screening and assessment: Completes timely and clinically sound mental health screenings and assessments using approved tools.
• Manage patient caseload: Effectively manages an assigned caseload by providing consistent clinical contact, monitoring progress, and updating treatment plans as needed.
• Facilitate counseling sessions: Facilitates individual and group therapy counseling sessions.
• Documentation: Completes all clinical documentation accurately and objectively.
• Crisis Intervention: Responds promptly and effectively to mental health crises.
• Other duties as assigned: Willingly performs all other assignments as directed by the superior.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a correctional environment.
• Prior experience working with individuals with different backgrounds.
