Job summary

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Clinical Instructors to mentor nursing students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in the Arlington, VA area. You will connect classroom learning with on-site patient care in inpatient settings.

Candidates with an MSN or higher are encouraged to apply; teaching experience is not required. Clinicals are scheduled at healthcare facilities in the Arlington area, with potential for simulation and didactic teaching as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Unencumbered professional nursing license in VA.
• At least two years professional experience within last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
• Live within a reasonable proximity of Arlington, VA - will be teaching at the clinical locations assigned per session.
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
• Have genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
• Have exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and Curriculum Implementation: implement the college's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Student Evaluation and Support: develop and post written clinical assignments, provide feedback on performance, and be available for remediation.
• Clinical Coordination: orient and maintain knowledge of clinical site policies and expectations; develop written assignments for students.
• Program and College Development: contribute to ongoing development and evaluation of programs and policies; may teach simulation/skills lab.
• Professionalism and Collaboration: serve as a professional role model and collaborate with staff and students.
• Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: comply with all regulatory rules and report to the dean or course coordinator.

Education

Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university

Unencumbered VA nursing license

Two years of teaching or instruction experience (preferred)

Job Description

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Clinical Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program located in the Arlington, VA area.

You will be mentoring students in person at an inpatient clinical setting. You'll be making connections between what our students are learning in the classroom and during simulations, with the real-world applications in patient care they are experiencing on-site. By bridging this gap, we can ensure that our students are not only well-prepared for their roles as healthcare professionals but also confident in their abilities to provide high-quality care to their patients.

Candidates with a completed MSN are encouraged to apply – Teaching experience is not required!

Clinicals are scheduled in a healthcare facility in the Arlington, VA area.

We are presently accepting applications to meet potential future need in the following areas of specialization:

Mental Health Psych Nursing

Students will be demonstrating nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient healthcare center. Emphasis is on the dynamics of an individual’s ability to function in society. The course focuses on content relative to anxiety, self-concept, thought disorders, mood alterations, addictive behaviors, organic brain dysfunction, abuse, and violence issues.

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility. Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Campus
