Alabama Clinical Schools has been a behavioral healthcare provider in the Birmingham area for over 20 years. This position is for our Bessemer Group Home. Our treatment services range from intensive residential treatment for males ages 9-18 to therapeutic foster care for males and females of all ages. Our RISE and Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care programs for boys are the only programs of their kind in the State of Alabama. Our mission is simple: to enrich lives of at-risk youth and their families by delivering quality behavioral and educational services while fostering a safe transition to the community.

The Mental Health Associate

He/she provides direct care to residents with psychiatric disorders, to ensure their safety and well-being. MHA’s have the primary responsibility for ensuring the resident’s safety on the unit utilizing a therapeutic approach to all tasks including assistance with daily activities, facilitation of groups and other duties as assigned by Group Leader, Assistant Group Leader, or Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications

Experience In a Residential Mental/behavioral Health Setting Strongly Preferred.

Must be 19 years or older, and have a successful drug screen and background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check).
