Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Mental Health Associate for a full-time rotating position. You will support mental health patients under the nurse’s supervision, assist with care tasks, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree preferred in Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patients’ physical, emotional and social behaviors.
• Assist patients with personal care, monitor vital signs and weights, and prepare lab specimens.
• Supervise meals, patient observations, and transport to activities and appointments.
• Teach nonviolent crisis intervention techniques as directed by the nurse manager.
• Serve as the unit's Legal Liaison.
