San Marcos Treatment Center is seeking a Mental Health Associate (MHA) to support the daily program for youth ages 6-17. The role focuses on providing frontline care in a 212-bed residential setting between Austin and San Antonio, with on-site documentation and teamwork to ensure patient safety and engagement.

Shifts run 6a-2p, 2p-10p, and 10p-6a; weekend availability is required. Training is provided on-site, with opportunities for growth within UHS and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Psychiatric experience preferred (2 years).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Able to pass a Criminal Background check and Pre-Employment Drug Screening.

Responsibilities

• MHA is on the front lines of treatment for the children in our care.
• Provide a safe and therapeutic environment as part of the clinical team.
• Implement the daily program schedule and ensure accurate clinical and administrative documentation.
• Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and other team members regarding patient care and safety concerns.

This position is for 32 hours a week.

San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas! San Marcos spreads across 65-acres with an abundance of trees and wildlife. We have 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels with two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, sports court, playing fields, ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.
