Universal Hospital Services Inc. at San Marcos Treatment Center in Central Texas is seeking a Mental Health Associate (MHA) for a 32-hour work week with flexible weekend shifts.

You will help provide a safe, therapeutic environment and support daily program schedules for youth in our psychiatric residential facility. As part of the clinical team, you will maintain accurate documentation and communicate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Two years psychiatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

This position is for 32 hours a week.

Shifts Available: 6a - 2p, 2p - 10p and 10p - 6a. Must have weekend shift availability.

San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas! San Marcos spreads across 65-acres with an abundance of trees and wildlife. We have 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels with two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, sports court, playing fields, ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.

Our Mental Health Associates (MHA) position is on the front lines of treatment for the children in our care. Providinga safe and therapeutic environment, is the primary responsibility to include implementation of the daily program schedule. As a member of the clinical team, accurate clinical and administrative documentation is required as well as communication with co-workers, supervisors, and other team members regarding patient care and safety concerns.

Qualifications

Mental Health Associate (MHA) Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current CPR certification preferred
• Psychiatric experience preferred (2 years)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Able to pass a Criminal Background check and Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
