Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center in Westampton, New Jersey, is seeking a Mental Health Associate to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in both inpatient and outpatient programs. You will support daily living activities, encourage appropriate behavior, and help maintain a therapeutic milieu.

The role requires good documentation, organization and time management, daily patient meetings, and reporting progress to the treatment team.

Qualifications

• B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience, or two years of psychiatric experience with continuing education in mental health preferred.
• CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation, and Handle with Care certifications will be provided by the Hospital.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Clinical/Nursing Administration.
• Assist and supervise patients' activities of daily living, encourage appropriate behavior, and intervene to prevent inappropriate behavior on units.
• Lead patients in treatment plans with a compassionate but firm approach; maintain good documentation, organization and time management.
