Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Mental Health Associate to provide direct patient care in a 120-bed acute psychiatric setting in Westampton, NJ. The role involves assisting patients with daily activities, leading care plans, and coordinating with the nursing team to support a therapeutic milieu.

The ideal candidate has a health-related bachelor's degree and psychiatric experience; CPR/First Aid and de-escalation training are required or provided by the hospital.

Qualifications

• B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications which will be provided by the Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Clinical/Nursing Administration.
• Assist and supervise patients with activities of daily living and encourage appropriate behavior.
• Escort and assemble patients for meals, programs, court, clinics and other designated activities.
• Lead patients in treatment plans in a compassionate but firm manner with clear documentation and feedback to the treatment team.
• Meet with assigned patients daily and report progress to the care team.
